Artist Bio
Nico Newman--
Is a queer artist born and raised in Montana. His work explores his emotional processing while highlighting his love of color. He is graduating from Helena College with an Associates of Science in Spring 2024 and has been accepted to transfer to Southern Oregon University in Fall 2024.

Artist Statement
My work is a stylized exploration of my emotional processing relayed through graphic depictions of the human form and the natural world. I use color to convey tone and mood, along with a combination of digital art and collage to portray the way I experience love, longing, mourning, and anger.

Had one pen and alcohol marker piece displayed in the 2018 publication of the Capital High Pen and Ink Magazine.

Proud: A Curated Art Exhibition
Had a digital drawing and an oil painting chosen to be displayed at the Myrna Loy’s Jailhouse Gallery for their Proud Exhibition.

Had two digital drawings accepted into the Helena College Showcase. Both pieces were selected by local businesses to receive awards.
